INDEPENDENT — Shiratama Utano, an independent VTuber with unUniVIRTUAL, told viewers on Monday that her stomach hurt and that she would end her karaoke stream early. She made the announcement after thanking chat for coming to hang out, and the stream closed a little over two hours after it began.
The stream was billed as a regular Monday karaoke session built around Gundam songs. Utano opened it with an unrelated bit, asking viewers to look closely at the front of her outfit and repeating the question for people who had just arrived. Chat offered theories about how the garment was cut.
“My stomach hurts a little. I’m ending early.” — Shiratama Utano, partway through the stream
As the singing went on, chat filled with applause emoji and call-and-response chants. Viewers typed “STAND UP TO THE VICTORY!” during one song and posted lyric fragments during another. Later, as Utano sang while tilted at a steep angle, chat joked about her neck and compared the pose to the Leaning Tower of Pisa, with several people marveling that she could sing so well that way.
After her stomach remark, viewers urged her to rest and keep warm. In her sign-off, Utano said she would read the Super Chats the next day and post the coming week’s schedule. Chat closed with a run of her sign-off catchphrase and more wishes to get well.
