Inami Rai’s Overwatch Team Drills for Nine Hours With a Coach Ahead of Tournament
Four Nijisanji teammates worked through team compositions, map positions and call-outs, then kept playing into the morning.
NIJISANJI — Inami Rai spent more than nine hours on stream drilling Overwatch with a four-person Nijisanji team and a coach, working out roles and map plans for an upcoming tournament. Shiina Yuika, Reina, Kanae and Tsukahara Daichi joined the session.
The group opened with a long round of chat about careers and stream setups, then compared their Overwatch ranks. They ranged from Gold to Grandmaster, and one participant joked that stronger players would carry weaker ones. When the coach arrived, a voice said nothing short of a win would do, and chat answered with calls for a championship.
The coach laid out the tournament format: a pool of five maps, with the first map decided by a dice roll and the losing side picking the next. The team then toured maps to settle on a fast, mobile dive composition built around a Winston or Zarya up front with Vendetta, and a Kiriko and Moira pairing behind. The coach’s guidance was to go after soft targets such as damage and support heroes, to avoid incoming fire while flanking, and to call out ultimates and barrier cooldowns once the team was comfortable.
Around the 90-minute mark the team opened a custom lobby and asked viewers at Gold to Platinum rank to take part as opponents, a call chat met with a rush of messages. They ran practice matches on the Control and Hybrid maps, including King’s Row, for hours. Late in the night they cleared the first stage of King’s Row against an opposing team, which the coach credited to the repeated drilling. Participants also discussed rearranging the opponent order for a scrimmage on the 23rd.
The formal practice wrapped up after the seven-hour mark, but some of the group kept playing, saying they would eat breakfast and sleep after one more win. The stream ended a little past nine hours in, with chat sending thanks and goodnights. One Super Chat arrived during the stream.
