Yuikawa Yuina Works a Convenience-Store Shift Game Until the Store Explodes
The UltraLMTM streamer also said she expects to announce monetization this week, days before her debut’s one-month mark.
ULTRALMTM — Yuikawa Yuina of UltraLMTM spent about an hour on Monday playing a convenience-store part-time job game, a first-day shift that ended with the store blowing up. She called it a good ending and said she had decided not to take a convenience-store job after all.
In the game, the store manager left her alone at the register on her first day and coached her by phone. She scanned customers’ purchases, then used a weapon on customers the game flagged as nuisances, a choice that moved the store’s score up or down. She mistook a few ordinary customers for troublemakers and apologized, and when the crowd turned rowdy she told chat that a small sacrifice was unavoidable. Through it all she kept insisting, “I’m an idol,” and that idols do not hit people. Near the one-hour mark the manager asked her to run the store for a month while he was away. She said she had learned to hit whatever bothers her, that something had just bothered her, and the store exploded. Chat answered with a wall of “an explosion ending is the worst.”
“My pay is the listeners’ smiles.” — Yuikawa Yuina, after the game ended without a paycheck
The game was bracketed by long talk segments. In the first hour, a *zatsudan*, or chat stream, she defended her idol image after viewers teased her, saying she sees herself as 60 percent idol and 40 percent comedian. She admitted she had not washed a tumbler for days and explained why she now rinses it after drinking cocoa. She also went through her UltraLMTM colleagues one by one, assigning each a role such as the serious one, the maiden, the comedian or the one who drinks, and kept the idol slot for herself. She also said Hello! Project had influenced her most.
After the game she asked chat about foods they dislike and said she cannot eat fruit, which she traced to her time working at a cake shop. She ranked her favorite oden items, with chikuwa and chikuwabu on top, and said she prefers the kinoko side of the kinoko-versus-takenoko chocolate debate.
Near the end she said she expected a monetization announcement this week, though it was not yet final, and asked viewers to wait for her own announcement. Her debut will reach one month on Thursday. She said she would return the next evening at 7 p.m. for a group stream with her UltraLMTM colleagues, where she planned to try a murder mystery for the first time.
