Kanade Kanon, And Uge and Kisaki Anko Go From Exploding to a One-Go Clear in Bom Banana
The three former V-Apa members rotated roles on Halloween-themed bombs and ended with a defusal that went clean on the first try.
774INC — Kanade Kanon, And Uge and Kisaki Anko of 774inc’s Nanashi Inc. spent a Monday evening trading roles in the bomb-defusal game Bom Banana, a stretch of near misses, explosions and a final bomb they cleared in a single go. All three streamed the session from their own channels, and all three described it as hugely fun.
Kanon opened by explaining the game to the others: one player operates the bomb, one holds the manual but cannot speak, and one cannot hear either of the other two. Kanon said she had meant to do a test run but had not, and the opening bomb was a tangle of talk at cross purposes. The three then settled on a numbering for the wire colors, with blue as 1, yellow as 2, green as 3 and red as 4, and got through it. The bombs were pumpkin-themed for Halloween.
“It’d be nice to play more three-person co-op games like this.” — Kanade Kanon, And Uge and Kisaki Anko, after the final clear
They rotated roles through the night. Around the 22-minute mark, Kanon told the others they were too relaxed for people sitting next to a bomb, and a few minutes later the group cleared a module with one second left on the clock. A running gag over a rude hand gesture used to signal “up” had chat typing along. Later bombs ended in explosions, including one that took all three down together and another on a symbol-matching module where a single mistake reset the whole sequence. Kanon also warned that some modules need constant attention no matter what the manual says, and one of those cost the group a bomb.
The run steadied late in the night. Around an hour and a half in, a long bomb was cleared, and shortly after, one with a string of symbol and lever modules went through with each player doing only what was needed. A final bomb was defused in one attempt, to a flurry of “nice” and applause in chat. Kanon said she had played the game up to stage 20 or so and had worried about turning into an instructor, but found herself stuck like the others.
The three agreed to look for other three-player co-op games to play together. Kanon said her next stream could well be a birthday stream. Anko said she would play a cat post-office game the next morning, and Uge said she planned a drinking stream in the evening, with a waiting room for Resident Evil to follow.
