She credited an item called the link cable, which she had chased through hours of runs, for the win.

Clio Aite closed a 13-hour broadcast on Tuesday by winning a run of a monster-battling auto-battler, then said she would stop on that result. The day began with a modded Lethal Company collab with friends and moved through browser quiz games before a long solo session of the auto-battler.

Clio opened over toast, newly awake, catching up on football news with chat. Before long she and a group of friends were in a modded Lethal Company lobby, the co-op game in which crews scavenge for loot and sell it to meet a quota. Most of the group were streaming it from their own channels too. The crew was picked off by a giant, a territorial bird, a spider, turrets, mines and a lightning storm, and Clio described the game as “a hilarious death simulator.”

“I refuse to engage in poison strategies because I’m not a toxic person.” — Clio Aite, on her auto-battler builds

A recorded voice line gave the first stream its title. Clio played the “time to be a hero” clip several times as she headed into danger, and chat answered with “TIME TO BE A HERO” and “NEVER SHOW FEAR.” She died soon after one of the plays and said the joke did not land as well the second time. After just over three hours of play she wrapped the collab, thanked the others and called it her only Halloween stream.

When she moved viewers to a new stream, it hung before going live; Clio refreshed the page and it started. She then chatted her way through a quiz comparing stadium food from around the world, a game of guessing a speaker’s home country from an accent, and a daily trivia-puzzle site. Chat argued over where clam chowder belongs, and her sausage dog wandered onto the desk and pushed at the microphone.

From the sixth hour she played the auto-battler through to the end, building teams of monsters to face other players’ lineups. Clio said she would not use the poison builds that dominate the game, and she built around a bird monster that earns money as it attacks. Poison lineups ended several runs, including at least two that stalled at nine wins out of ten. In the tenth hour she reached the game’s extended mode, which she had switched on earlier, for the first time, and a mythic item she had never seen before copied 240 percent of the strongest enemy monster’s stats onto one of hers. She closed by saying she was ending on a win, crediting the link cable item she had hunted for most of the night.

Clio said she would be back the next day or on Thursday, depending on how much homework she had. Four Super Chats arrived during the broadcast.
