Rindo Chihaya Planned a Fishing Stream and Ended Up Playing Through hololive Dreams’ Story
After a bingo win and a stream that began with a blank capture screen, the session ran about two hours.
HOLOLIVE — Rindo Chihaya, a Hololive DEV_IS FLOW GLOW talent, set out to do nothing more than fish in hololive Dreams as a thank-you stream and instead played for roughly two hours, moving the game’s story forward, clearing live stages and spending a stretch of the night gambling away in-game coins. “I thought it would be about an hour,” Rindo said when a clock check showed it was past 12:30 a.m. in Japan.
The stream opened with trouble. The game would not show up through the PC capture, and Rindo spent the first ten minutes or so reloading it and rearranging the screen, at one point pleading with the game to be allowed to say thanks. The picture came through once a tablet was connected. Rindo had won the hololive Dreams bingo campaign, with two winning entries out of 310, and said they had been eyeing the racing boat in the prize list. The prizes in hand were a fishing experience and a hot spring inn stay, which Rindo said would be filmed as a vlog.
“It was supposed to end with just fishing, but I really did the story too.” — Rindo Chihaya, wrapping up the stream
Fishing took up the first part of the night, with the catchphrase “next time I’ll aim even higher” repeating with each cast. Sardines kept turning up, a pufferfish drew chat questions about whether the streamer held a license to prepare it, and a rod upgrade and a boat came later. The story advanced to a stage with other Hololive talents, and Rindo then spent coins on a high-low card game and a poker game, losing most of what they had and admitting they could not make themselves stop.
The second half turned to live stages. Rindo fell short of the score needed, reworked the character boards, and cleared the stage at around the 1:53 mark, then cleared another song and collected gems. A 10-pull and a single daily pull followed, and Rui, a senior talent, came up on the last pull.
Chat joked along throughout, calling the catch “thankful sardines” and warning that serving fugu without a license was out of bounds. Rindo said another stream was planned for the 28th, with the time depending on a recording session and likely between 9 p.m. and 10 p.m.
