Ash and Cu Sensei Fight Zombies by Typing, Then Spend Two Hours on Marvel and Stephen King
The duo, who call themselves BibleStudy, played the horror game Blood Typers for about an hour before the stream turned into a long chat about movies, comics and books.
FIRST STAGE PRODUCTION — Ashkariel and Cu Sensei, who stream together under the name BibleStudy, opened a collab on Ashkariel’s channel with Blood Typers, a horror game played almost entirely by typing, and then spent most of the rest of the three-and-a-half-hour broadcast talking.
In the game, players type words to move, grab items and fight off monsters, steering with the arrow keys and turning with the shift keys, a scheme both of them complained about early on. They worked through the rooms of a derelict film studio in search of ammunition, food and keys, signed an in-game contract handing their blood, sweat and tears to the studio, and were swarmed more than once. A barricade across a door made matters worse, and they reached the death screen and gave the game two runs before setting it aside.
“Thank you for inviting me, Ash. Never invite me to a game like this again.” — Cu Sensei, as the stream wound down
From there the conversation took over. The pair covered the Spider-Man film Brand New Day, the character Cyclops, the Punisher, a Ghost Rider film starring Ryan Gosling, Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey, Doctor Who, and Stephen King’s books, including The Long Walk. Ashkariel also told a story about stomping on a zombie actor’s hand at a haunted house and then striking up a conversation with her. Chat took part throughout, and a Knives Out watch-along came up as an idea.
The stream drew 23 Super Chats, with questions ranging from the Glee reboot to a request to pick a number from one to five. A raid of viewers from another streamer’s community arrived partway through the talk.
As the stream closed, Cu Sensei said he should not be invited to a game like this again, and the pair agreed the next collab would be something more mainstream. One of the participants joked about running another Blood Typers session with guests who did not know the game. They then sent viewers off to another streamer’s room and asked them to type slurping sound effects when they arrived.
