Jelly Hoshiumi Finishes Orc Tower Defense Game With All Achievements in 7.1 Hours
The Phase Connect streamer cleared the last upgrades on her fan appreciation day, then previewed a new outfit debut later this week.
PHASE CONNECT — Jelly Hoshiumi finished an orc-themed tower defense game on Steam with every achievement unlocked during a stream of about two hours and 50 minutes on Thursday. She said the game’s page on Steam showed 7.1 hours played in total, with about five hours coming from the previous stream.
The stream fell on Oshi Day, a fan appreciation day, and Jelly opened by thanking viewers who wished her a happy Oshi Day. The stream’s premise was in its title: set the orcs on fire, poison them with gas, then shoot them. She cleared the first level of the session, 6.1, after about 38 minutes and joked that it might be the shortest stream her fans, who call themselves Starknights, had seen. She credited the gas towers for the win, and later leaned on Tesla coils to clear the next level, 6.2, with a single nuke ability held in reserve for a leak that never came.
“We did it. We finished the game.” — Jelly Hoshiumi, after unlocking the last upgrade
From there she worked through the game’s challenge achievements, which limit her to certain tower types and ban abilities. She beat a map using only Tesla coils and another with only three tower types. Her computer gave her trouble throughout: her streaming software dropped to 10 frames per second early on, and the game itself later fell to about one frame per second until a restart fixed it. She put the first problem down to too many models on screen and replayed the level after the second.
With the achievements down to one, buying every upgrade, she replayed level 6.2 repeatedly to earn money. She filled the time talking with chat about strategy games, Warcraft III custom maps and the Fallout: New Vegas streams she said she missed. When the last upgrade went through, she said the game was finished and that it was the first game she had completed on stream since Fallout.
Jelly closed by saying she had planned her new outfit for about a year and described it as her biggest outfit release since her debut. The reveal is later this week, and she said she has themed games lined up for after it. She signed off by saying she was heading to her new outfit room.
