Chibidoki Trades Dinosaur Game for a Potato-Peeling Sim and Plays It to the Ending
The independent Twitch streamer, who announced a new model in her stream title, closed by rating the game 10 potatoes out of 10.
INDEPENDENT — Chibidoki, an independent streamer on Twitch, set aside the dinosaur game her chat was expecting and played Potato, Please, a potato-peeling simulator, through to its ending. She pitched the switch to viewers early in the stream, calling the game, which she said came out the day before, a potato-peeling simulator and asking whether they were down for it.
The stream ran under a title announcing a new VTuber model, and chat noticed it. Early on she joked that she had never had sex appeal and was wearing a middle-school T-shirt. Before settling into the game she also told viewers she had just finished the film Godzilla Minus One, called it “actual cinema,” and said she was becoming a Godzilla fan. She said she woke up early to buy a racing-game add-on just to play its Godzilla course, and added that the older rubber-suit films were what she planned to watch next.
In the game, she peeled through sacks of potatoes, worked through a skills tab that included an auto-rotate upgrade she soon regretted buying, and read letters from the son she was working to support. At one point she let chat decide a task she said she did not feel good about, then went along with it. Handling the box-and-sack work, she apologized as she fumbled it. In her telling, villages went hungry because of her mistakes, though she insisted it was not on purpose.
At the end, she said the game’s report showed no one in the village had starved, though the northern front had gone without supply. She said she had earned $60,000 and given her son only $100, and joked that her son shot her and that her own version of events was that he had tears in his eyes. She gave the game 10 potatoes out of 10, and answered a viewer who was upset about the abandoned dog by saying the game gave her no such option.
Chat answered the bucket sounds and the in-game gulag setting with a steady run of laughing emotes. Chibidoki closed by saying she would be back tomorrow at around 1:30 CST, a little earlier than usual because Shally is in a different time zone.
