Four Streamers Work Through Cursed Dice Game Invokyr in a 4½-Hour Collab

Onatsu No Nibitashi, Hololive’s Kanade Izuru and two others shared a run in which a thrown die reshaped the mansion around them.

Onatsu No Nibitashi and Kanade Izuru of Hololive teamed up with two other streamers named in the stream title, 悪喰 and Shimon (史門), to play the cooperative horror game Invokyr (インボキア -呪いのダイスゲーム-, “The Cursed Dice Game”) on Wednesday. The collab ran about four and a half hours and was streamed on both Onatsu’s channel and Izuru’s. By the end, the group called the game cleared.

The game arrives in a box like a board game. The rulebook, which the group read aloud at the start, told players to roll dice to move, recover golden statues and call the game’s name to end it. Players pick up dice as they explore: healing dice restore nearby players and can revive a fallen one, while revival dice raise a dead player from anywhere. A die thrown at the wrong moment changes the mansion, and anyone left outside the new layout dies. Shimon was the first to die, which a riddle-style door puzzle then asked about.

“This looks like it’ll catch on, honestly.” — Onatsu No Nibitashi and three others, after finishing the game

Each board threw a different trick at the group. They faced a floor mini-game in which they had to pick the safe tile, a stage built around a chess board with white pieces chasing them, and a statue that moved whenever nobody was watching, like the children’s game Red Light, Green Light. At one point a statue handed Onatsu control of Izuru’s body, and the group could not work out who was where while a bandaged enemy closed in. Between boards they spent points in the shop, including on new outfits.

When the run ended, the game took back their purchases. They spent the rest of their money on a radio and a guitar and finished with a party in the shop, singing “Sekai ni Hitotsu dake no Hana” and joking that it was safe from copyright claims. They agreed the game could catch on, and noted that there was still unexplored content, including a hallway that needed a key and character customization.

Chat compared the chess stage to a scene from Harry Potter. Near the end of the stream, Izuru warned that the left-right inversion stage also flips the mouse, so forward and back and left and right all swap, and said watchers might think the controls looked clumsy when the stage was harder than it looked. Onatsu said they would take the next day off and hold a worries-consultation stream the day after.
