Shiori Novella of Hololive English -Advent- played the story-driven photography game OPUS: Prism Peak for nearly four hours on Nov. 4, finishing the stream at the start of its fourth chapter. The date was Oshi Day, a fan observance for celebrating one’s favorite streamer, and viewers opened the stream with greetings and 41 Super Chats and stickers.

She spent the first half hour talking with chat. She thanked viewers for the Super Chats, and said she was proud of those who had found jobs. The conversation took in the roughly 300 episodes of Gintama she once watched as a pick-me-up, and the spam bots that keep urging her to play Doom. She said she was waiting on harmonies for a future cover and hoped to release a comic series based on urban myths in one batch, possibly as a book near her anniversary. She then read fan messages that thanked her for her content and wished her well for the coming year, and said one upcoming stream will be rescheduled to a date still to be set while the other goes ahead as planned.

“I’m pretty sure if a woman says she hates you, you still shouldn’t actually hug her.” — Shiori Novella, after declining a hug in the game

In OPUS: Prism Peak, she played a photographer named Eugene who travels with a fading girl called Ren through a world of spirits. A force known as the Shade makes the spirits forget their names. She photographed statues, murals and the spirits themselves to bring their memories back, cleaned her camera lens at fires by offering seeds, and drank with spirits in the Nameless City. She said repeatedly that she wanted a good ending, took suggestions from chat on dialogue choices, and reloaded a save after one answer she regretted.

One of the longer scenes took place in a ruined movie theater, where a white horse spirit who had once lived with the seer refused to look at her. When the game offered a hug, Shiori declined, and explained that she took the spirit’s words literally. Later, during a chase with the Shade, she mistook the sequence for a cutscene and took screenshots as the creature closed in.

She ended the stream because she was hungry, saying she would play more of the game in streams around the same time. Her next stream, she said, would be a game she called her de-stresser, and she may add work streams in which chat keeps her on task.
