Lunlun Sorted Into BLEACH’s 10th Division as Closer of Game Launch Relay
The Nijisanji streamer, who wore a fake beard in homage to a favorite character, took the in-game Gotei 13 diagnosis on the final turn.
NIJISANJI — Nijisanji streamer Lunlun was assigned to the 10th Division by the Gotei 13 diagnosis in the smartphone game BLEACH Mirage High on Nov. 3, closing a relay of streamers held for the game’s release. The Gotei 13 are the 13 squads of soul reapers in the BLEACH series, and the in-game diagnosis suggests which squad a player would join.
Lunlun opened the final turn wearing a fake beard in homage to Genryusai Shigekuni Yamamoto, the character Lunlun likes best. A reader of the manga who had not yet seen the anime, which recently concluded, Lunlun said the series had been a major preoccupation lately, and explained the 13 squads to viewers before building a new soul reaper in the game’s character creator, with white and purple hair.
“A world with color is richer and more beautiful.” — Lunlun, on seeing the manga’s characters voiced and colored
On an account lent for the occasion, Lunlun pulled the game’s gacha, which featured Sosuke Aizen as the pickup. Lunlun gasped as Aizen’s voice came through, and chat erupted when Mayuri Kurotsuchi, a favorite, appeared. Ichigo Kurosaki and Grimmjow Jaegerjaquez also came up, and Lunlun spoke at length about the manga’s chapter-opening poems.
Lunlun then began the story, in which a trainee soul reaper with no memory is sent to Karakura Town, and noted that the amnesia echoed Lunlun’s own situation. At about the point of the diagnosis, the game’s staff-voiced instructor explained that results would inform squad placement, and Lunlun answered the questions without trying to steer them. The result was the 10th Division. Lunlun closed by saying the voices and colors had made watching the anime a must, and asked viewers to share which squad they landed in.
