UNIRAID! — Hino Nagisa of Uniraid! (EINS) sang through a two-hour *utawaku*, or singing stream, on Tuesday with live harmonies on every song, built on the spot from his own voice rather than recorded beforehand. He opened by saying he had picked up a new “weapon” that let him harmonize live, that he had only tried it briefly the day before, and that he wanted to use the evening to test it and balance the sound.
He said the harmonies follow his own voice, so he had to hold his pitch steadier than usual, and that he was doing the switching himself: choosing between upper and lower harmony and adding extra upper and lower parts as he went. The first song was “Panda Hero” (パンダヒーロー), and chat told him the harmony was coming through. Partway into the next song he realized the harmony had dropped out, groaned, and sang the first verse again to get it right. “Revenge done,” he said once it landed.
“I can sing something like 800-odd songs, and I’m glad I get to enjoy them all over again, in a way I never have before.” — Hino Nagisa, on the size of his song list
The set then moved through songs including “Yuki 100%” (勇気100%), “Lilac” (ライラック), “Marunouchi Sadistic” (丸ノ内サディスティック), “Donut Hole” (ドーナツホール) and a song from the anime Hamtaro. In one song he switched from lower to upper harmony mid-song, and on “Lilac” he said he had worked on an attempt from the day before. On “Marunouchi Sadistic” he put the lower harmony on the first verse and the upper on the second, and said that so far it was the song where the harmony worked best. He could not hear the result clearly himself while singing, and said he was looking forward to checking the archive. He ended the stream at about two hours, saying he could not wait to hear the recording.
Chat answered with applause and the wand-and-snowflake emoji used for his channel. 14 Super Chats came in, which he thanked in his usual color-by-color reading. Late in the stream he said he would not do harmony streams every time but would do them again, and that there was room to adjust the settings.
