Amauta Sau Realizes Mid-Stream That the Date Has Rolled Over to a Fifth Anniversary
The independent Twitch streamer said an anniversary celebration would follow on YouTube at 8 p.m., with announcements.
INDEPENDENT — Amauta Sau, an independent streamer on Twitch, realized late in a Grand Theft Auto V stream that the date had changed and the day was the channel’s fifth anniversary. “Isn’t today an anniversary? Hasn’t the date changed?” came the first questions, before the streamer confirmed it was five years and thanked viewers, who answered with congratulations in chat.
The stream, titled “Palette Town Day 5,” opened with a short greeting and a round of thanks to viewers for coming. Chat answered with the channel’s “konsau” greeting, and several viewers said they had expected the streamer to skip the night after a long trip to Yokohama.
“Wait, it’s five years? Five years! Thank you!” — Amauta Sau, on noticing the date had changed
Earlier, Amauta Sau prepared to join a mercenary group on the roleplay server. The only clothing available for women was gray, and a group member suggested posing as a man. “I’ll pretend to be a man,” Amauta Sau said, then introduced the character as male over the group’s radio. Chat joked about lowering the voice, and a male-sounding name for the character caught on among viewers.
Later, an acquaintance handed over a vehicle that the people around Amauta Sau called fast and quiet, and the streamer tried it out as chat discussed its acceleration. Near the end, the streamer said how glad they were that a fellow player they had been hoping to meet, called Aku-chan, had come by, then told viewers the fifth-anniversary celebration would be held on YouTube at 8 p.m. and that there would be announcements.
The streamer signed off by thanking viewers again. “Tomorrow will surely be a good day, too,” Amauta Sau said.
