Tsukuyomi Leo Climbs About 7 Million in Slots on Palette Town’s Opening Day
The independent streamer also rode a horse in a race and swapped contacts with other players during an 8.5-hour Grand Theft Auto V stream.
INDEPENDENT — Tsukuyomi Leo, an independent streamer on Twitch, played the first day of the Palette Town event in Grand Theft Auto V on Tuesday, a stream that ran about 8.5 hours. By the time he reached the slot machine, he said he was roughly 7 million in-game yen ahead.
He opened by saying he had finally reached the stream after a hard stretch. He had reinstalled the game, and the download alone dragged on. He said his own connection tested fast against unrelated downloads, so he suspected the trouble lay on the game network’s side, and that he got it working somehow. He thanked viewers for their subs and cheers, said he was worn out before play had begun, then started.
“I haven’t changed. It’s always been like this.” — Tsukuyomi Leo, answering chat at the slot machine
In one stretch he rode a horse named Gungun Rocket in an in-game race, hammering the click button to drive it on. He said the sight of him whipping a horse alone on the track looked plain and a little sad, and that the horse’s rump must have been sore. During the race he swapped contact details with another player, introducing himself as Tsukuyomi Leo, and called a second player to ask them to come to a meeting spot. Chat laughed at the sound of the whipping and called the horse’s cries a scream.
Later he sat down at an in-game slot machine and kept playing as the payouts piled up. He said he could not leave the seat, that he was 6 million ahead, and he later put the total at about 7 million. He set himself a target of 1,500 coins and said he wanted to quit there. When chat remarked that he had changed, he said he had not, and that the only difference was that fewer people were around.
Another horse race followed. He ran the Gungun Rocket again, shouting that he would not lose a race. A payout multiplier of 24.6 was announced, and he asked aloud whether someone had bet on him. At the close he said he could probably reach Palette Town for three more days this week, that an offline event was coming next week, and that he would send his raid to a fellow streamer marking a fourth anniversary.
