Hanabusa Lisa Wins Apex Legends Twice on the Final Day of the Ranked Season
She teamed up with Tachibana Hinano and Kamito after an evening of Cursed Companions, and the season closed at 2:30 a.m.
VSPO — VSpo’s Hanabusa Lisa won two ranked matches of Apex Legends with Tachibana Hinano and Kamito on the last day of the ranked season. The wins came in a broadcast on Tuesday that ran about six and a half hours and also included an extended session of Cursed Companions.
The evening opened with Cursed Companions, a cooperative dungeon game in which each player has banned words, and saying one hurts or kills teammates. Dead players can be brought back with a revival egg, and healing wands respond to spoken phrases. Lisa spent the first stretch trading incantations with the group, including a run of “I love you” aimed at Hinano to heal her. The group worked out the rules as they went, rebuilt a lobby when one player had trouble connecting and gathered treasure before each dungeon portal closed.
“I want to play Apex, so I’ll find time in the gaps and do my best.” — Hanabusa Lisa, on the busy week ahead
The session ended in a werewolf-style mode with eight players. One participant said they would like to try a proper game of it, and the group thanked one another and closed out the stream. Lisa then set up a new stream and took the party into Apex Legends.
In ranked, Lisa, Hinano and Kamito picked up their first champion finish late in the broadcast, then won a second match about an hour later. Between matches the talk turned to weapons and legends, the coming season and how much the ranked system rewards kills.
The ranked season ended at 2:30 a.m. Japan time on Wednesday, and Lisa decided to wrap up rather than wait out the downtime for the new patch. Before signing off she read out thanks to supporters of the previous day’s Halloween stream. She said her schedule outside streaming would be full over the coming week, but that she wanted to keep playing Apex.
