Shirakami Fubuki and Yuzuki Choco Tame a Giganotosaurus, Then a Dreadmare, in ARK Marathon
Along the way a mishap in a trial dungeon cost Fubuki her gear, and the pair fixed a date for a pirate-ship battle.
HOLOLIVE — Shirakami Fubuki tamed a Giganotosaurus and, hours later, a Dreadmare, both with help from fellow Hololive talent Yuzuki Choco, during an ARK stream on the Hololive community server that ran more than seven and a half hours on Tuesday. It was the eighth installment of her series set on the game’s Ragnarok map.
Fubuki opened with an unplanned stream because a Giganotosaurus had turned up near her base. She and Choco spent the first stretch of the night shooting it with tranquilizer arrows, using cliffs and a flying mount to stay out of reach of a dinosaur Fubuki said was faster than expected. When it finally finished eating the kibble needed for the tame, she named it, then flew it back to base. Chat flooded in as the huge animal was carried home. “The size is ridiculous lol,” one viewer wrote.
“Trouble like this is part of ARK, too.” — Shirakami Fubuki, after the trial mishap
Later she took on a trial dungeon with an obstacle course. The right-hand route went through on the first try, but on the left route she attacked a creature belonging to another tribe that she had taken for a neutral one, and her gear ended up out of reach. She asked Choco for help, and after hearing from viewers that the boss fight could be skipped, she slipped out of the dungeon and thanked those who had tested it. Choco recovered what could be recovered. “Trouble like this is part of ARK, too,” Fubuki said afterward. Chat thanked the viewers who had checked the route.
The two then turned to Dreadmare, a creature that has to be summoned with parts from several dinosaurs. They collected claws, hearts and other drops, fought off the summoned animal together and tamed it, after which Fubuki rode it and tried its abilities, including an aura, a barrier, a black hole and a wind blade. A second Dreadmare was tamed later in the evening, in a coat of a different color from the first. Fubuki named hers Dreadnought. “Congrats on the tame!” read one chat message.
Before signing off, Fubuki and Choco discussed events on the server on the 7th. They settled on a pirate-ship battle starting around 8:30 p.m., with a train trip to leave by 10 p.m., and Choco said she would announce the train plans to the others. Fubuki closed the night by sharing her ideas for the personalities of the Dreadmare and her other creatures, and apologized for the long broadcast.
