Usada Pekora’s Dinosaur Fleet Beats an ARK Boss Without a Single Loss

The win on Day 22 of the Hololive ARK server came after a stat reset wiped out her temporary Halloween colors and boosts.

Usada Pekora led a fleet of tamed dinosaurs, built around her Acrocanthosaurus, through a Beta-difficulty boss fight on Day 22 of the Hololive ARK server on Sunday, and nobody was lost. The boss, a dragon, hovered overhead for roughly the first three minutes, then came down to the ground, where the group’s buffs and the fleet wore it down. By the group’s own estimate the fight took between 10 and 15 minutes, far quicker than the previous attempt, when a team of crocodiles was nearly wiped out.

Two other players, addressed as Noel and Bibi, joined her for the fight. Pekora gave them bones from the evening’s hunt before heading in, and afterward said the Beta boss had been easy enough that she wanted to try the top Alpha difficulty next, and asked both to help again if they were free.

“I want this color. Please, make it stay.” — Usada Pekora, on a time-limited Halloween dye

The evening began with the server’s Halloween event. Pekora opened with her poem, a daily quest and a retweet request, then spent the first stretch gathering materials for saddles and rare Halloween-event creatures, which she noted were spawning in unusual numbers. She bought costume skins for her dinosaurs, put hats and pumpkins on her mounts, and recolored her Umbra a purple she called a lucky roll. When she noticed the color was a dye that lasted only 24 hours, she pleaded for it to stay.

It did not. While reassigning stats on her creatures with a mind-wipe tonic, she found the reset also stripped the temporary colors and other boosts, and she spent several minutes lamenting the loss before rebuilding her loadout for the boss. Later, with Noel and Bibi, she hunted a Halloween creature called Dodorex. A rabies-like infection spread through the group’s animals, but all three came away with tames, several of them high level.

Chat teased her for keeping the best ones, reacting to the Dodorex haul with a stream of “monopoly” jokes. Before signing off she quizzed viewers on a dish she turned out not to like (liver and chives), read one of four Super Chats and said she would take on the Alpha boss next.
