Usada Pekora Tames a Level 145 Giganotosaurus on Day 18 of the Hololive ARK Server
After a long fight with traps, a crossbow and tranquilizers, the streamer finished an in-game quest and moved on to hauling experience points for her dinosaurs.
HOLOLIVE — Usada Pekora of Hololive tamed a level 145 Giganotosaurus during the 18th day of the Hololive ARK server, a roughly five-hour stream. The catch came after a long fight at a trap she built on sloped ground, where the wild animal twice slipped past her setup before she moved to a flatter spot. She wore it down with a crossbow while a tamed spider helped keep its knockout meter up, then fed it tranquilizers and kibble. With the animal in hand she had both a male and a female Giganotosaurus, and the in-game emergency quest to defeat one was marked complete.
The stream opened with cleanup. She said an administrator-command mistake the day before had been rolled back with no harm done, but items on the ground were no longer despawning, so the land was littered with dinosaur droppings. She held a dung beetle and walked her base to vacuum them up, joking that she was now the server’s droppings picker. Later she found that a whip lets her order tamed animals around and could be used to pick up the mess.
“More and more, my strong dinosaurs keep gathering.” — Usada Pekora, after finishing the quest
Her main goal for the night was a blueprint for an Acrocanthosaurus saddle. She spent the early hours digging up treasure-map chests and taming two river otters, at levels 22 and 45, which she planned to use to collect artifacts. She also fed items to a Helicoprion, a creature that can turn a finished item into a blueprint, at odds of roughly 37 percent. A cheap pickaxe went through on the first try, and she said it was a mistake to have spent her best chance on it. Another attempt later failed, and no saddle blueprint turned up. She also toured a train line fellow server members had built that circled the island, and noted the one-month server was due to end around Nov. 8.
Midway through the night, while she gathered materials, the talk drifted to old anime and television. She and chat argued over who the protagonist of Bakabon is, since she had assumed it was the father, and she looked it up on stream. The stream drew 13 Super Chats and Stickers, and chat filled with the farewell “otsupeko” as she closed. In the final stretch she farmed experience from a Titanosaurus, gaining nearly 20,000 points in a single kill. She said she would stream again the next day, possibly in the afternoon, and would help another member with a trial, without a firm time.
