Olda Locks Three New Juniors in a Mock Department Store and Quizzes Them Floor by Floor
The three had just finished their first stream; Olda told them they could leave only after answering questions from about three floors, then said there had been no punishment at all.
SQUARELIVE — Olda turned the tables on three newly debuted juniors on Sunday, locking them inside a department-store-themed quiz set in a welcome special that followed their first stream. She explained the premise herself: they had locked her juniors up earlier, so she had locked them up in return, and they could end the stream only after answering questions from about three floors.
The first floor was a run of two-choice dilemmas, with chat invited to vote by typing a hashtag and A or B. The juniors split on a choice between a microphone that plays canned laughter after every line and earphones that sing on their own; one picked laughter because of a fear of dead air. The floor’s last question carried what Olda called a trap, a choice between a red carpet and an entrance theme. The juniors chose the red carpet, which she said was the right call, and she put away the toy hammer she had been brandishing. She added that about 70 viewers had voted the other way.
“I’m not a devil, I’m a devil with an angel’s heart.” — Olda, after the last question
On the second floor, the juniors were shown decorated bottles made by senior talents, each holding a wish note, and had to name the owner from the design and a few hints. They counted down and named the owners in turn. The notes mostly wished them a smooth start and happy, healthy careers. One senior’s personal wish was to be nearly hit by a Bentley, so that a tall, handsome CEO would step out and she would marry into wealth, and the juniors joked that they would line up to be hit too.
The third floor was a “tacit understanding test”: the three had to write the same answer without conferring. Their answers diverged on most questions, among them the person with the smallest eyes, a gift for everyone and an item that must be in every bag, where one wrote money. Olda had warned of an unspecified penalty for a poor match.
After the last question she said there had been no punishment and that she would not have kept them locked in either way. She then read the juniors a letter wishing them a smooth journey and saying she hoped to share a 3D stage with them one day. She said a post-event talk would follow the next evening at 8 p.m. and that the three would release a group cover song, with individual covers due on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th. Chat sent three Super Chats.
