Lucius Merryweather, an independent streamer on Twitch, returned to the character Bob Burgerweather on the first day of District V, the Grand Theft Auto V roleplay server, and spent the day getting Bob’s burger shop back on its feet.

The stream opened with a tour of the shop’s menu, drawn by the artist known as 82. Items included Bob’s Big Burger, a burger and drink for each of last season’s characters, and Serpico Siren Soda, named for the previous season’s police chief. Merryweather said The Fizzati, another drink, was an idea from the actor who played that chief. A wedding cake shake nods to the season-one wedding of Musashi and Violet, and a collaboration menu of soju-flavored drinks recalls the K-pop group formed by last season’s paramedic crew.

“Luca asked me to be Bob again, and I couldn’t say no.” — Lucius Merryweather, on bringing Bob back

Merryweather said Bob had been meant to retire after season one because he had such a good ending, but that Luca, another District V roleplayer, asked for him back. Merryweather described the new design as more sexy and “dilf core” and showed the official artwork by 82. The server had also reshuffled its businesses, with Vanilla Unicorn no longer in play, and Merryweather said they were glad to still be able to do burgers.

In the city, Bob gave his name as the founder of a burger-shop business and traded phone numbers with a self-styled tycoon who claimed to own a quarter of the moon. Later, behind the counter of the reopened shop, Bob showed a new colleague how to work the register, told them everything should cost $350 because “inflation is off the charts,” and, asked about his history, said he had lost his burger brand in a mahjong match. He told other characters he had spent two years in anger-management training and refused to name the “Twink Man” who had wronged him.

Chat welcomed Bob back and laughed at his new look, his hat and his composure. Before signing off, Merryweather thanked the other roleplayers, singled out Lulu for holding the shop together, and said tomorrow would bring applications for new positions and a restock of supplies. Merryweather also said a new part of the Clinic of Horrors series was still to be written that night.
