Nimi Nightmare Spends Four Hours Sewing Gowns for Dressmaker Clients, Burlap Order Included
The streamer remade several designs and tore up a nearly finished dress before signing off, saying she could keep making dresses forever.
INDEPENDENT — Nimi Nightmare played Dressmaker for more than four hours, working through a string of client commissions and calling the game “the perfect game” at the start of the stream. She said she could not stop thinking about it and could not play it off stream because it does not run well on her Steam Deck.
The first dress was a pink, playful and romantic piece. Nimi stacked ruffles, piping, lace and bows on it, saying that is how the beautiful dresses in the game seem to get made. She spent nearly a thousand gold on trim, decided the silhouette was off and kept adding until the result reminded her of a dress from a work that was formative for her. Later orders included a gothic evening gown with a dark-to-light gradient skirt and chains, a bright picnic dress she said looked like something from an Austin Powers film, and a dress for a client whose list of demands included burlap.
“Everyone should have at least one insanely ornate, beautiful gothic gown in their wardrobe.” — Nimi Nightmare, while finishing a gothic gown for a client
That burlap commission went wrong more than once. Nimi built a dress with a quality that was too high, then realized the order capped quality at 70 percent and had to start over, finally putting burlap inside and gingham outside. “I’m not going to put my tag on it,” she joked. She later built a gothic gown with spiderweb lace and plum trim for a client headed to a book reading, then a pink-and-green fairy dress with sequins and cascading flowers that she called one of her best creations yet.
Between dresses, Nimi talked about the end of October. She said she had not done enough spooky things this month, that she was thinking of dressing as Rick from Rick and Morty for Halloween and that she keeps an apple cider habit going. She also told chat that she sometimes wears a witch hat, and that she has a big pair of pants she is not sure how to style.
She wrapped up after more than four hours, saying the game is dangerous and that she could keep making dresses forever. She said she would be back the next day, the day before Halloween, and might play something spooky.
