Haruka Mikoto Describes a Fan-Book Fair Full of “Pointed” Passions, Then Sings Twice
The SheerMusicV singer also reported on a hotter version of a favorite cup noodle and announced two events, one of them that afternoon.
SHEERMUSICV — Haruka Mikoto, a singer with SheerMusicV, spent most of her Tuesday morning stream describing a recent visit to a doujinshi fair, an event where people sell self-published books on whatever they love. The stream began at 9 a.m. Japan time on Nov. 3, a national holiday, and she said the fair was a new experience: she had been to Comiket but nothing else of the kind. This one, she said, accepted any genre. “I thought it was fun, how people’s pointed hobbies are so interesting,” she said.
She went through the booths that stuck with her. One book covered every exit of Ikebukuro Station, and she said she almost bought it. She did buy a comic essay about paying professional organizers 170,000 yen to clear an overflowing room, and a guide to regional udon chains across Japan. Others she described were a booklet surveying the order in which people eat the items in a well-known bento and a photo collection of toned-down brown signs in sightseeing areas. The one that struck her most was a circle whose zine turned skyscrapers into male characters. The creator, she said, had loved big men from the start, and her passion came through in the way she talked. Mikoto added that she now wants to make a doujinshi of her own.

Two songs broke up the talk. She sang once at about the 34-minute mark. After a segment on the theme song of an audition program she said had been stuck in her head, she performed that song, and she closed the stream with another. In between, she said she had eaten a new, hotter version of a favorite cup noodle. She called it tasty rather than punishing, with heat that crept up afterward, and said she would like to make a video on how she came to love spicy food.
Chat greeted her with the “ohari-ju” morning call, filled with music-note and clapping emoji during the songs, and the stream drew one Super Chat. Near the end she said she would perform that day at Portal Live and Portal Meet from 4 p.m., a small-capacity event with tickets still on sale, and would open Saturday’s V Cafe Bunkasai, part of V Cafe’s third-anniversary event, with online tickets on sale since the day before. She said she would post a graphic of her November and December events on X, and closed with a round of rock-paper-scissors.
