Yuno Mihanada of MEWLIVE’s first generation defeated the last of the Headless enemies in her second playthrough of Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice on Saturday, then spent the rest of a stream of more than five hours in a rematch with Genichiro Ashina that she did not finish.

The first half of the stream went to preparation. She tied up remaining side stories, then farmed enemies for the materials needed to upgrade her prosthetic tools. She picked a fire-based upgrade to her shuriken tool because, she said, it looked the flashiest and coolest, and she later credited it as the reason she won the Headless fights at all.

“I finally beat them. All of them.” — Yuno Mihanada, after the last Headless fell

The first Headless fell about two hours in, and more followed, with a few tumbles off ledges along the way. Once the last one was down she moved straight on to the Genichiro rematch that gave the stream its title.

Against Genichiro, whom she called Gen-chan, she repeatedly reached the second phase and said she was eager to see the third. Low sweeping attacks kept catching her, and she burned through healing items. Midway through, her guard button began flickering and she feared the controller had broken. She traced it to the controller’s rapid-fire function, which she had switched on by accident, turned it off and carried on. She said she had broken a controller on Sekiro in an earlier stream.

She stopped at 6 p.m. as planned after another fall off the arena edge, joking that it gave the day a punchline. She said Sunday’s stream, at 10 a.m., would be the last episode of the playthrough, and that she would play Digimon Story Time Stranger at 9 p.m. the same night.
