Fujikura Uruka, a member of Phase Connect’s first generation, spent most of a three-hour talk stream explaining her singing voice to chat. She said her low notes, C3 and B2, are reachable only in her morning voice, and demonstrated at her keyboard how both sound once her voice has warmed up. She said she still has one line to record for a project and plans to do it after waking.

She also told viewers that her voice has gotten higher, not deeper, since her debut, and that she found out what head voice was only about three years ago, when she met a vocal coach for the first time. After a viewer asked how high she could go, she tried a few high notes and screamed, then played an old short from her channel of a vocal range test that she called an example of what not to do. She said she would like more coaching but that it is expensive.

“See, there’s literally no other way to pronounce soup.” — Fujikura Uruka, in a debate with chat over how she says the word

The rest of the evening was an organizing project. Uruka said she had bought four grid panels, baskets and desk organizers at Daiso, a Japanese discount chain, along with cup holders and a clamp-on rack for papers, and that her desk was the clearest it had been in a while. She said she had painted the wall hooks for the panels white, that mounting eight of them took about an hour, and that she had to wait 24 hours before hanging the panels. She also reported a strange dream in which her toilet paper had been stolen, and learned on stream that the wrist rest she wanted to replace had been discontinued. Chat suggested dish soap, and she decided to try that.

A long exchange about how she pronounces the word “soup” followed, with chat insisting she said it two different ways. She finished the night by singing the opening number of the musical Hamilton, “Alexander Hamilton,” and later played the musical’s demo recordings for chat. She said the song is meant for about 20 singers. She ended the stream to order dinner and said she would be back the next day with a violin stream.

Chat spent much of the stream joking about her screaming, and the stream drew 58 Super Chats and Stickers.
