Maria Marionette’s Zombie Squad Loses Its Characters on Normal, Then Extracts on Beginner

Four Nijisanji EN talents streamed the same Halloween run of No More Room in Hell 2, and Maria Marionette closed by talking through her new original song, Human Doll.

Maria Marionette, Zeal Ginjoka, Uki Violeta and Kaelix Debonair spent Halloween playing No More Room in Hell 2 together as NZS, short for Niji Zombie Slayers, each streaming the session from their own channel. One of the participants said the group was down a few members and its usual carry was out of commission, so they would take the new maps on Beginner.

The first map was a bunker mission that scattered the players and sent them through a shelter to meet up. They collected code books for the west, east and south gates, restored power and had to enter a bypass code in the order printed above a door: 1B, 2E, 2D, 1A. One participant pressed a panel out of order and took damage, and the hunt for the 1D panel turned into a One Direction joke that the group agreed to drop. Later, with the lights on in what they took for the Pentagon, one participant said the pizza places around it were known to see a surge in orders when something big was happening, and a teammate steered the rest to a rope instead of a ladder.

“I said I’m not your Marionette does not mean I’m not a Marionette.” — Maria Marionette, on the lyric from her new song

Between fights the talk wandered. The group traded advice on sleep schedules, argued over the best place to ride out a zombie apocalypse, and sketched a scheme in which they would all get ordained to marry people, with an officiant, a wedding planner, a marriage counselor and a divorce lawyer to profit from the fallout.

The run turned when the group moved to a survival map called Ruby Lake and, in one participant’s words, decided they were ready for Normal. A wave failed, more zombies broke through, and the squad lost characters, with players saying goodbye to Muskrat, High Noon, Fumble and Crunch. Someone suggested trying the map again on Beginner, and after switching back the group worked through barricades, fuse panels and a generator and reached extraction, with one participant calling it a win.

Kaelix left around the two-hour mark, telling the others, “I’m not feeling too great,” and went to rest. On the Kaelix channel they said they might be getting sick, planned to take it easy before a By the Beat collab later that day, and sent viewers to Maria Marionette’s new song, which Kaelix said features them. Zeal Ginjoka wrapped up after about two and a half hours, said another collab was coming in about four hours, and announced a week off from streaming at the start of November to focus on offline work. Super Chats and chat on Zeal’s channel marked one year since the song Only You, and Zeal thanked viewers for listening to it for a whole year. Uki Violeta used the closing minutes to talk about preparations for a 3D Halloween live, saying another announcement would come at the end of it.

Maria Marionette stayed on the longest. Opening up about the game, Maria said being dropped alone at the start of the map was scarier than playing with others around. Then Maria turned to Human Doll, saying the scream after the first chorus was an ad-lib added after the lyrics were written, along with spoken lines and laughs. Maria said they wrote about half the lyrics, named Puppet Cafe and Idol Pride as favorites among their originals, and asked viewers to stream the song on all platforms. Chat picked out the song too, with one viewer calling out its last scream.
