Otodama Tamako Cooks Naritake-Style Ramen at Home on the Shop’s Final Day
The Aogiri Highschool streamer started eating two minutes ahead of schedule, then spent the hour on noodle rivalries and a look back at October.
AOGIRI HIGHSCHOOL — Otodama Tamako of Aogiri Highschool opened her Saturday lunchtime camera stream two minutes early because the food was ready: a heavily topped bowl of homemade ramen and a rice bowl of green onion and sliced chashu pork, both made in the style of Naritake. The ramen shop had run a collaboration ramen with her, and it was serving it for the last day.
She said she had wanted to visit on the final day but decided against it, since she figured she would run into at least one listener. She added that she had gone to the shop after work the day before and found it too crowded to get in. She urged viewers who had not eaten to go, and asked those who did to post about it.
“Yakisoba is the enemy, isn’t it? The enemy of ramen.” — Otodama Tamako, on noodles that are not ramen
Between bites she ranked noodles by loyalty. Yakisoba, she said, is the enemy, as bitter a rivalry as the mushroom-versus-bamboo-shoot snack debate in Japan, and pasta is an enemy too, though she admitted she loves mentaiko pasta, which she often makes at home. Anything with ramen in its name, she said, is on her side. She also joked about what she would cook for a future spouse, from changing the toppings to match the type of ramen to refilling the rice and noodles at no charge.
Afterward she ate fruit ice cream from a box. Chat guessed apple, and she said that once they had said it, she could taste nothing else. She then washed the dishes and turned to the month’s work. She said October had brought a run of videos, including three posted in a row, and that she had worked with fellow members and with people outside the group. She noted that her birthday in December comes next, and that she is now in her ninth year as a VTuber.
She said the weekly ramen video would go up at 6 p.m. and that she planned to record a Halloween ASMR video later that night. She promised a stream at the start of November looking back at October and ahead to the new month. Chat sent 54 Super Chats and stickers, and she read out the names before signing off.
