Banzoin Hakka Sings Six Songs in Halloween Mini 3D Live, Then Breaks Down the Vocals
After the visual-kei set, the Holostars English singer played back his isolated backing vocals and explained his scream technique.
HOLOLIVE — Banzoin Hakka of Hololive’s Holostars English -TEMPUS- performed a six-song visual-kei set in a Halloween mini 3D live titled Haunted Moon, then stayed on for a long chat stream in which he played back the layered backing vocals he had recorded for the show.
The set began with a spoken greeting, “It is I, Bonso Haka, and I welcome you to my haunted moon,” and the singer later took off his stage wings, joking that his voice without a microphone at his mouth was “Exorcist magic.” He said Monochrome Kiss was chosen because Black Butler was one of the first anime that really got to him, and that Sky was a character song from Visual Prison, a series he loves. Glamorous Sky followed, in the rock arrangement rather than the Mika Nakashima version some viewers had expected. Hakka joked that he still had not finished watching Nana.
“I will keep working so freaking hard until we have a live someday. Not a mini 3D live, a live live.” — Banzoin Hakka, closing the set
A guest persona called Spermo joined for Mugen, the Demon Slayer theme by My First Story, and Hakka thanked him afterward for coming out. Vampire came next, with a shout-out to the Holostars English singer who had sung it before. The final number was a karaoke favorite that a collaborator, Tokimane, had been asking him to sing. Hakka called it the last song of the night and promised a post-show chat.
In that chat, Hakka thanked the people who built the show, including a band he called Shredded Chicken, which had appeared in the footage. He played the isolated backing tracks for Sky and Mugen, which he said layered harmonies, doubles and high and low octaves, and then explained how he combines false-cord and vocal-fry techniques for screaming. He thanked viewers for gifted memberships and for 75 Super Chats, said he would read the rest later, and then left for a busy day that included meet-and-greets in Indonesia.
Chat filled with applause and purple hearts through the set, and viewers asked for more. Hakka said the show was only a small portion of what he wants to do, and named a Holostars English concert, First Light 2027, as something to look forward to.
