Sorashina Sopia’s Museum-Goods Stream Reveals Her Camera Operator Was Juufuutei Raden
The Hololive talent spent the first half of a handheld-camera stream with an unnamed “staff member” before the ReGLOSS member gave herself away and the two said they are childhood friends.
HOLOLIVE — Sorashina Sopia of Hololive’s gpASOBI★MAWARI-TAI! spent Thursday’s stream presenting souvenirs from the National Museum of Nature and Science in Ueno, Tokyo, with a surprise partner at the camera: the “staff member” handling the items turned out to be Juufuutei Raden of ReGLOSS.
The stream was a hand-cam broadcast in which only the hands of the person holding each item were visible. Sopia said she had narrowed the museum shop down to six picks, and told viewers the hands were not hers but a staff member’s. The staff member answered with peace signs and lively movements, and a Futabasaurus plush that kept swimming out of frame while Sopia tried to coax it back and explained that the animal was a marine reptile, not a dinosaur.
“I finally got to say it.” — Sorashina Sopia and Juufuutei Raden, after the reveal
Sopia’s picks included a water-flea paper clip complete with a scale bar, which she said she loved as a researcher, a mug showing the history of Japanese rockets from the 1960s to the H3, a gummy candy made from lactic acid bacteria that she said had traveled to space in 2006, a pair of socks embroidered with the chemical structure of serotonin, and a flint-and-steel set that she joked should not be struck in the studio. The staff member grew bolder as the show went on, plugging a Hiroshige exhibition at the nearby Tokyo National Museum, eating gummies on camera and finally speaking aloud.
At the end of the segment the staff member introduced herself as Raden of ReGLOSS, and the two announced that they are childhood friends, something they said they had been told to keep quiet until the stream. The connection then dropped repeatedly, cutting off parts of the reveal and a Sopia impression Raden performed. The two moved on to a chat room, talked about meeting again in a stream within a couple of weeks and floated announcing a unit name at their next outing, and Sopia read out the names of Super Chat senders on the ending screen.
Chat suspected the staff member early, with messages such as “You’re not even trying to hide it, are you?” as the staff member plugged the exhibition, and the stream drew 109 Super Chats and Stickers.
