Roasty Toasties Win NIJISANJI EN’s NIJIpedia Quiz Show With 242 Points
A new original group song, “Our Way,” was announced at the close of the show, which Sonny Brisko hosted without his scheduled co-host.
NIJISANJI — Roasty Toasties, a team of Yu Q. Wilson, Freodore, Shu Yamino and Uki Violeta, won NIJIpedia, a quiz show on the NIJISANJI EN official channel, finishing with 242 points after a late run in the final two segments. The prize was a bag of Halloween sweets and bragging rights.
Sonny Brisko hosted. His co-host was out sick, and Brisko opened by promising twice the energy to make up for it. Twelve livers, as the agency calls its talents, played in three teams: No Name, No Life (Zeal Ginjoka, Petra Gurin, Doppio Dropscythe and Vezalius Bandage), Large Number Nine With Cheese (Luca Kaneshiro, Maria Marionette, Seible and Claude Clawmark) and Roasty Toasties. Six segments fed one running score.
“I definitely had a great time hosting it. I tried my hardest.” — Sonny Brisko, closing the show
The opening round was built on a survey of the EN managers. Teams had to rank livers on questions such as who replies fastest to a message, who has nerves of steel before a big event and who would be first to fall in a zombie apocalypse, and the managers’ written comments were read aloud after each reveal. Wilson was ranked among the top two yappers, tied for first place, and Doppio took first as the liver who thinks most outside the box. Video guests followed. Elira Pendora quizzed the teams on what her purchases cost in rice balls, including 1,350 for her gacha pulls, Ren Zotto played a song he wrote about another liver, and Klara Charmwood drew food step by step for buzzers. Brisko’s own “VSSF officer challenge” had him clear a painful foot-massage mat course in 20 seconds and manage a personal best of nine hops on a pogo stick. A pre-recorded samurai and ninja lesson from the absent co-host asked the teams to predict shuriken and blowgun results, and Roasty Toasties took both points.
No Name, No Life led at the halfway scoreboard. In the voice-dubbing round, viewers voted for Large Number Nine With Cheese with 54 percent, and Brisko split his 10 bonus points among all three teams. The drawing relay, where only the first player saw the prompt, ended with Large Number Nine With Cheese guessing a wedding and Roasty Toasties guessing sumo wrestling, 40 points each, while No Name, No Life answered Australia for what was a maid cafe. That put Roasty Toasties on top. A running joke about trading Sable for points ran through the second half.
Brisko then announced a new original group song from NIJISANJI EN, titled “Our Way.” It is to reach streaming platforms at midnight local time on Dec. 5, with the official music video premiering on the NIJISANJI EN channel at 12 p.m. JST on Dec. 6. In closing, the teams gave their thoughts: No Name, No Life said they hoped for a second season, and the winners said the coffee they brought proved its worth.
