Ember Amane Rates Her Apple Cider Whiskey Sour 9 Out of 10 in a Four-Hour Lunchtime Stream

The Phase Connect streamer built the drink on camera with a second camera angle, then spent the rest of the night grinding MapleStory until a surprise server maintenance cut her off.

Ember Amane of Phase Connect mixed an apple cider New York whiskey sour live on a Phase-O-Ween stream, then gave it a 9 out of 10. She opened by saying it was her lunchtime and that the stream would be day drinking, and she billed the segment as “Ember’s Kitchen,” except that this time she was brewing potions rather than cooking.

She said she was no master bartender but had done her homework, and she walked viewers through the build: two ounces of bourbon, an ounce and a half of real apple cider, three-quarters of an ounce each of lemon juice and maple syrup, and an egg white. She warned against sugar-free maple syrup, which she said turned her test batch into goop, and explained that the egg white adds a silky texture without an egg taste. After a dry shake and a second shake with ice, she poured a splash of red wine over the top, the float that makes a New York sour, and finished it with an apple slice and cinnamon. A large clear ice cube, she said, takes about 20 hours to freeze and was bought for the stream.

“I rate this a 9 out of 10. It’s like the perfect in between where you can still taste a little bit of the booziness.” — Ember Amane, on her finished drink

Her first sips drew a 9 out of 10, and she said she was already giggly after two. She later repeated the rating and said she had a mocktail version of the recipe for anyone who preferred not to drink. The broadcast also ran with a second camera angle, a color-graded look and a lighting setup she said she had put work into. Chat compared the shot to a stock photo. Partway through the drink she noticed another streamer’s broadcast still playing in the background, unmuted it for a few minutes and called it a date.

Around the one-hour-and-fifty-one-minute mark her microphone began to sound crunchy. She blamed OBS rather than the mic, said she could not fix it while live and restarted the stream. Audio was clean when she came back about a minute later. Before that, a viewer had sent 50 gifted memberships at once, and she said she was frozen in place until the alerts cleared. The stream drew 38 Super Chats and stickers.

Once the drink was done she switched to MapleStory, grinding in the game’s early-style version and trying out the cash shop’s new outfits. She learned that unscheduled maintenance would start about an hour later and run for two hours, and she hoped for a level-up before the servers closed but did not get it. She signed off after almost four hours and said the next stream would be a One Piece Grand Gourmet game.
