Vantacrow Bringer Runs His First Ad as Plant Shop Stream Swells Past 27,000 Viewers
He and chat put the surge down to bots, and he said he had felt left out until it happened to him.
NIJISANJI — Vantacrow Bringer was playing the cozy horror game The Plant Shop when the viewer count began climbing past anything the channel usually sees. By his own count it passed 27,000, then 30,000, and he later spoke of being “botted to like 40k.” He and chat both put the surge down to bots, and he said he had no idea how it would affect his channel.
He took it in stride. He said he had never run an ad on his channel, then used YouTube’s prompt to insert one while chat chanted “roll the tape.” He has YouTube Premium and could not see the ads himself, so he relied on chat to tell him how many played. When the numbers began to fall, he thanked viewers for the “congratulations” and admitted to “botting FOMO,” before adding that it was a joke in case anyone doubted it.
“I definitely had botting FOMO. I was like, man, who’s going to bot me? Who’s going to bot little old me?” — Vantacrow Bringer, as the viewer count climbed
The game itself, a story of a woman opening her dream plant shop, turned darker as customers, a stalker and eyeball-bearing plants arrived. He played through the ending in which Sylvia keeps feeding the monster known as Mother, then went back for the other two. By his account, the good ending has Sylvia shoot a light fixture down onto Mother and burn the shop, and the secret ending explains where Mother came from. The playthrough ended about two hours into the broadcast.
Earlier, he had told viewers that District V2 was starting the next day and that he had spent about five minutes on his character and prepared nothing else. After thanking viewers, he moved on to Don’t Starve Together, playing solo as Wilson to learn the game. He went through gear hunts, spider fights and a run-in with a giant spider queen before his run ended at night around day 20. He said that a few more seconds would have been enough to survive.
Chat answered the ad with cheers and the botting with jokes, and he closed the night by saying he would see viewers on District V the next day, though he was not sure what he would do.
