Hyakuto Kyoko and Gigi Murin Play Nearly Six Hours of Deadlock in Their First Collab
The two Hololive talents queued through wins, losses and a PC crash, and agreed to stop only on a win.
HOLOLIVE — Hyakuto Kyoko and Gigi Murin of Hololive played the team shooter Deadlock together for nearly six hours on Wednesday, their first collab, each streaming it from her own channel. Gigi titled her stream as her using her “senpai tax” to form a Deadlock team with Kyoko. The session ended on a win, after the pair had agreed to stop only on one.
They opened with introductions in a cop-and-patrol vein, one of them billing herself as the hero heading for duty, and said they planned to play about five hours to get in sync. The first technical task was the chat-wheel voice line “I’m going to rat,” which players use when they skip a team fight to push another lane. Both hunted through the communication settings until they found it, then used it repeatedly. One of them walked the other through the hero Rem, a support who heals, gives buffs, throws large pillows and raids the enemy jungle to steal sinner boxes, the souls pickups that sit around the map. They also noted that Deadlock is still in a closed beta and that ranked play was running anyway.
“Even if we lose, even when we lose, it’s still fun.” — Gigi Murin and Hyakuto Kyoko, between games
They won the first match, and the second turned into an hour-long game. Their best stretch came in a later match in which an enemy Calico had grown far ahead and a teammate had briefly disconnected. After a push for the Rejuvenator, the pair and their team won a team fight and the game, and one of them called Calico “so big and so scary” afterward. Later lobbies were tougher, with opponents denying them souls, and they guessed that winning had put them in matches against stronger players. They rotated through several heroes along the way and talked about filling out a six-player squad, noting that one friend was interested and joking about drafting a manager as the sixth.
About four hours and 15 minutes in, the pair won a match in 24 minutes with no deaths, and Gigi’s PC crashed right afterward. She restarted OBS and rejoined the room while the other went to get water, and they were back in the queue within minutes. Later one of them restarted the Holo App after it began eating the PC’s resources, and the two joked that it cuts talents off after about four hours of Deadlock. A heavy loss followed, and they agreed to end on their next win. They got it in the match that closed the stream.
They put their win rate somewhere between 50 and 70 percent. Between games they floated a 24-hour Deadlock stream and a rotating roster that would keep a full six-stack going, and they said they would find a day next week to play again. Kyoko said her next stream, a mahjong session, was an hour away.
