Vantacrow Bringer and Four NIJISANJI EN Colleagues Reach Winter in Don’t Starve Together

The group’s first run together lasted 23 days, and the players were already talking about a second attempt when it ended.

Vantacrow Bringer led four fellow NIJISANJI EN streamers through a game of Don’t Starve Together that lasted 23 in-game days, long enough to see winter arrive before the group went down. Yu Q. Wilson, Kaelix Debonair, Uki Violeta and Zeal Ginjoka joined the collab, which each of the five streamed from their own channel.

The first stretch went to gathering. The players fanned out for rocks, flowers and butterflies, which restore eight health when eaten, and were warned that creatures attack in the dark. One character started with about half the health of the others, and the rest teased the player who had picked it. Rocks were hard to find until a teammate pointed to a rock biome to the east, and Uki Violeta was asked whether they had pressed Q or E to turn the camera since loading in.

“We didn’t starve cuz we ate. We ate plenty. We cooked and we ate.” — Vantacrow Bringer and four others, after the run ended

Food set the pace from there. A frog stole one player’s balloons, and the first death came less than an hour in. Revivals were possible but costly: bringing a teammate back with a Telltale Heart took 40 health from the reviver and chipped away at the revived player’s maximum health, and a ghost on the map drained everyone’s sanity. A campfire spread to nearby trees, the group ate through its seeds, and dogs that arrived around the two-hour mark popped the balloons one character had been making. One player later tallied that some of them had starved six or seven times.

As the days passed, the talk turned to winter. One player warned that crops stop growing in the cold and that the party would need earmuffs made from rabbits and a fridge built from scraps from the traveling merchant, whom nobody had found. By day 18 a player said they might actually reach winter, and it arrived soon after. The last survivors then fell to the cold with dogs closing in, and one player said they could have revived all three of the others if the spiders had dropped spider glands instead of silk. “Honestly, great first run for this group,” one of them said.

Afterward the five went over what to fix: more silk, driftwood and bone shards, and enough scraps for a fridge. One suggested relaxed difficulty without revivals, so that dying still carries stakes, and another floated making the group’s goal getting through all the seasons in one stream. Back on their own channel, Kaelix Debonair said they appreciated viewers’ urge to share tips but found it more entertaining to figure the game out alone. In chat, viewers called it a “very good first run” and thanked Vantacrow Bringer for organizing the collab.
