Yu Q. Wilson Fumbles Wordle, Then Loses Track of the Puzzles in Hardcore Resident Evil 2
The streamer played the Japanese release, Biohazard RE2, on a fourth run and ended the stream early after reaching the sewers.
NIJISANJI — Yu Q. Wilson, an English-language Nijisanji streamer, spent about three hours on a Resident Evil 2 stream that began with a lost Wordle and ended with the streamer wandering back through the game’s police station, forgetting where nearly everything was.
The stream opened with computer trouble. Wilson said OBS had been crashing, traced the problem to graphics drivers that needed a fresh reinstall, and said that if crashes continued the cause would be the graphics card itself. After a short detour about Hello Kitty Island Adventure, Wilson turned to Wordle and spent roughly 13 minutes on a puzzle with a double E before landing on “geeky.”
“Me when I understand what I’m doing. I don’t, but I pretend I do.” — Yu Q. Wilson, midway through the police station
Wilson then announced a game called “Shut up now” in place of the one the stream title promised, before settling on the real thing: Biohazard RE2, the Japanese version, bought on a Japanese Steam account Wilson said was used only for Resident Evil games. Wilson noted the Japanese release tones down the gore, and chose hardcore difficulty despite expecting to regret it. This was, by Wilson’s count, a third or fourth playthrough.
Memory did not hold up. Wilson went through a long stretch of lockers, keypad codes and key doors, died several times to zombies that kept getting back up, and had to redo the keypad puzzle more than once. Wilson invited chat to “backseat” and discovered along the way that herb items stack in the inventory. By the end Wilson had made it into the sewers.
Wilson ended the stream early, saying something had come up, and spent the last stretch talking with chat about the way viewers type “haha” in all caps and about Wilson’s catchphrases spreading to other communities. The stream drew three Super Chats. Wilson said more Resident Evil 2 was likely the next day, with no streams on the following two days and a stream planned for the 30th.
