Nijisanji’s Suzuhara Lulu of MahiLulu played The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (ゼルダの伝説 時のオカリナ) blind through a stream of about eight hours, finishing with two of the story’s three Spiritual Stones in hand. She was playing the newly released remake of the Nintendo 64 original and said she had never played a 3D Zelda; her only earlier Zelda games were the Game Boy and Super Nintendo titles.

The first stone came about an hour and a half in. Lulu followed Link out of Kokiri Forest, spent time in the village learning the basics from its residents, bought a Deku Shield, found a sword hidden in a tunnel, and then entered the Great Deku Tree to destroy the parasite inside it. The tree’s death and Link’s departure from the forest drew a run of reactions from her over the next several minutes.

“I’m truly, truly, completely a first-timer.” — Suzuhara Lulu, early in the stream

At Hyrule Castle she got past the guards to reach Princess Zelda and, from Impa, learned Zelda’s Lullaby. A trip through Kakariko Village and up Death Mountain followed. Lulu spent roughly two hours in Dodongo’s Cavern working out its bomb puzzles, beat King Dodongo, and was given the Goron’s Ruby by Darunia. Along the way she paid a Great Fairy for new magic, learned Epona’s Song at Lon Lon Ranch, and made side trips into graves, a ranch game and a bowling alley.

A quake struck partway through the night. Lulu stopped to check on viewers, asked them to stay calm and rely on accurate information, and carried on once things settled. She also stepped away twice to look after her cats, one of them after a noise from the next room.

She signed off at about 7:25 a.m. her time, apologizing that her cats’ breakfast was late. Impa had just pointed Link toward the Zora’s domain upstream for the last stone, the Zora’s Sapphire.
