After Roughly 500 Pulls, Nanase Ray Lands Marian in NIKKE’s Anniversary Gacha
She began with 98 tickets and about 121,000 gems, and the gems ran out before Guren, the other character she wanted, appeared.
774INC — Nanase Ray pulled Marian: Queen, the character she had set out to win, after roughly 500 draws in a gacha stream for the fourth-anniversary banner of Goddess of Victory: NIKKE on Sunday. A gacha is the game’s randomized draw, and the stream, which ran about two and a half hours, was built around it.
Ray opened by counting what she had: 98 tickets and about 121,000 gems, close to 500 pulls’ worth by her tally. Marian and Guren were the two she was after. She called herself a devotee of single pulls, a self-described religion, and planned to spend the tickets one pull at a time and then put the gems into ten-pulls, Marian first.
“Marian’s here. I did it. I’m so happy. I’m about to cry.” — Nanase Ray, as Marian arrived
The pulls did not cooperate. Her first 49 ticket pulls on Marian’s banner brought no gold-rarity character, and the first gold came only about 100 pulls in. Twice the game handed her Noah, a character with a strong shield, instead of the one she wanted. Ray said she was glad to have Noah but allowed herself only a small joy, since she had come for Marian and Guren. Chat, for its part, had a line ready.
Along the way viewers pressed her to switch to ten-pulls, and she did. She later wondered aloud whether that had been a betrayal of her single-pull faith, and at viewers’ urging restarted the game and its launcher hoping to change her luck. Her manager, who she said had already pulled Marian more than once, sent her a teasing image of congratulations for the day’s meeting, complete with a peace sign. Viewers sent 33 paid messages over the stream, and several of them urged her toward ten-pulls.
Marian: Queen arrived near the 490-pull mark, which Ray confirmed against her count. She said she was nearly in tears. By the time her gems were gone she had not seen Guren, so she put the last ten tickets to a viewer poll, which went 69 percent for a ten-pull and 31 percent for singles. The ten-pull brought no gold. She then spent on Marian’s wedding-dress costume, saying she does not normally pay for games but would for this, and joked that she had just been married.
Ray said the remaining gacha, including the standard banner, would wait for her stream next Wednesday at noon, and that she planned an event-story stream on Thursday night at 8 p.m.
