Purin・Lala・Mode Meets Team 13 and Plays First Splatoon 3 Scrims for a Nijisanji Tournament
Takamiya Rion, Oliver Evans and Harusaki Air streamed the same session from their own channels, trading weapon setups through the night.
NIJISANJI — Purin・Lala・Mode of Nijisanji met the rest of Team 13 for the first time on Tuesday and spent most of a six-hour stream in practice scrims for the Splatoon 3 tournament #にじイカ祭り2026 (Niji Ika Matsuri 2026). Takamiya Rion, Oliver Evans and Harusaki Air, who played alongside Purin, streamed the same session from their own channels.
Purin opened by showing the day’s outfit and playing Turf War alone while deciding between two shooters, the Zap and the Gallon. Nerves were high: Purin said it was a first both for a tournament and for playing on a team. Purin also said Air had advised pushing into fights more, even at the cost of extra deaths, and planned to do so in the scrim set for 8 p.m.
“It’s my first tournament, and it’s my first time on a team too.” — Purin・Lala・Mode, before meeting the team
The teammates joined the voice call about an hour in. The team name had not been decided and was left to settle later. Rion, who had been using a brush weapon, tried the Dynamo Roller, and the group agreed to run both versions in the scrims. Purin kept switching between the Zap and the Gallon.
Once the scrims began, chat singled out Purin’s kill count and callouts. Around the four-hour mark the call grew loud during a close match, and one of the participants joked about what had become of the casual “enjoy” approach. Chat called the team berserkers and said it was watching a legendary team in the making.
Late in the session the group concluded that painting turf comes first and fighting second, a lesson Purin’s side took from the first day together. Purin’s Switch later lost its connection and was restarted, and Purin said a new LAN cable was on the shopping list. Purin said afterward that the Zap had not delivered the kills hoped for, and signed off after about six hours, saying the team would gather at the same time the next day. Air told viewers that a dream match lay ahead.
