Raora Panthera Plays Her First Resident Evil, With Koseki Bijou as Her Guide

HOLOLIVE — Raora Panthera played a Resident Evil game for the first time on Tuesday, working through Leon Kennedy’s story in Resident Evil 2 while fellow Hololive English talent Koseki Bijou, whom she called Biboo, talked her through it. Over about two hours, Raora made it from the opening road scene into the Raccoon Police Department and past one of the series’ blind, sound-hunting creatures, a Licker.

Raora said she had never opened any Resident Evil game before and had bought all of them that day while they were discounted. She tuned the graphics settings by ear and by advice from the call, picked English voices with subtitles, and started with Leon. Biboo introduced him as a rookie cop on his first day on the job, and the pair spent the evening calling him a baby. His deluxe-edition Samurai Edge pistol showed up early, drawing jokes about its name, and Raora said she had simply bought the whole package.

The first stretch was mostly escape. Raora ran from the first zombies, laughed at the idea that Leon could be bitten and keep walking, and wondered aloud about the Umbrella Corporation, briefly confusing it with the TV show Umbrella Academy. Biboo steered her through the storage boxes, herb mixing and map screens, and talked her out of trying to guess a puzzle combination by brute force. A sudden shock on the second floor sent a shout through the stream, and she worked through the station’s lock puzzles and a rookie desk code with help from the call.

The Licker stopped her cold. Told it could not see and would react to noise, Raora walked slowly past it and into a side room, then went on to assemble a maiden medallion. With one more medallion still needed, she called a stop.

Raora said she and Biboo would probably make this a recurring collab, with Biboo helping her through the rest of the game, and that she might start other entries in the series later. She also wants to finish Resident Evil 2 before seeing the new film. Chat opened with a flood of “Ciaora” greetings, joked that Leon had plot armor, and signed off with a stream of “ciao ciao.” The stream drew one Super Chat.
